Polka | Mixed Media Art Print — Modern Girl Illustration on Vintage Pastoral Photography

Polka is a juxtaposition of whimsical illustration and the peace of a nostalgic pastoral setting. A picture of a young girl in a bright red polka-dot dress is seen at the edge of a wide, sun-baked grassland, dotted with grazing cattle and the lush greenery of rolling hills. Margins with chromatic aberrations of electric blue, red and yellow, the piece employs vintage film photography esthetics to create a deep, captivating experience.

The beauty of the piece is the stark contrast between the powerful graphic lines and the earthbound background. The red outline draws the viewer’s eye, becoming a center of attention amid the soft greens of the landscape.
