Luxe vs. Classic Prints
Luxe vs. Classic Prints
Luxe Prints – Premium prints on a variety of high-end fine art paper options and frames for a sophisticated presentation. Some fit standard frames, while others maintain non-standard historical proportions.
Classic Prints – Affordable, high-quality prints with a smoother finish for sharp detail designed to fit off-the-shelf frames. Classic prints have the word 'classic' above the title and a letter which shows the sizes that the print comes in. Size A– 4x6", 12x18", 16x24", 20x30" B– 6x8", 9x12", 12x16", 18x24", 24x30" C– 8x10", 16x20"
Understanding Our Print Sizes
Understanding Our Print Sizes
Historical prints vary in proportion based on their original format. Whenever possible, we match them to the closest standard size, using common print ratios like 2:3 (e.g., 8x12) or 3:4 (e.g., 9x12). However, resizing some prints can distort the artwork's integrity, so we can only offer them in their original proportions. Additionally, we use different printers for our product lines, and not all sizes are available with every printer.
Marrakesh is a city of timeless beauty where history, nature, and architecture intertwine. The composition is centered around the Koutoubia Mosque, its golden tones stand in stark contrast to the turquoise sky. Surrounding the scene, lush gardens bloom with almond and citrus trees, evoking the city's famed green spaces—sanctuaries of tranquility amid the bustling medina. The balance of structured architecture and organic elements reflects Marrakesh’s deep connection to both its past and the enduring rhythms of its gardens.
Why We Picked It
The contrast between warm yellows and cool blues creates a storybook atmosphere, enhanced by the bold, graphic quality reminiscent of Art Deco design. The stylized forms and decorative patterns, combined with rich textures, lend the piece a sense of movement, as if the breeze through the trees and the quiet hum of city life are palpable. The vibrant, flattened perspective and expressive brushstrokes echo Post-Impressionist and Orientalist influences, evoking a romanticized vision of Marrakesh. The presence of birds, delicately perched on flowering branches, adds an element of serenity and timelessness, inviting the viewer into a peaceful yet vibrant moment in the city’s history.
Notable Context
Marrakesh, often called "The Red City," has long been a center of culture and power in Morocco, its walls and palaces infused with centuries of history. The Koutoubia Mosque, a masterpiece of Almohad architecture, has stood as a symbol of the city since the 12th century, its minaret serving as a guide for travelers approaching the city. Meanwhile, the gardens surrounding Marrakesh have been places of retreat and contemplation for sultans, scholars, and artists alike. From the grand Agdal and Menara Gardens to the hidden courtyards of riads, these green spaces reflect an enduring tradition of harmonizing nature with urban life.
About the Location
Marrakesh, situated between the Atlas Mountains and the desert, has been a cultural crossroads for centuries, blending Berber, Arab, and European influences. Its historic gardens, some dating back hundreds of years, contrast with the city's dense streets and markets, offering peaceful retreats. These gardens, found near mosques and within former palaces, are integral to Marrakesh’s heritage, reflecting its architectural and botanical traditions.
